Our Story
At Professional Fire Restoration (PFRS), we understand how devastating property damage can be. Since 1968, we have grown from a small upholstery cleaning business into one of the Capital Region’s leading full-service restoration companies. In 1984, we rebranded as PFRS and established our headquarters in Albany, where we continue to serve the community today.

We are a family-owned business with deep local roots. Our leadership and long-serving team members have spent decades building trust with our neighbors and clients. President and owner DJ Johnson leads by example, emphasizing integrity and loyalty. Many team members have been with us for 15, 20, or even 30 years.
Our promise is to be there for you around the clock. When disaster strikes, our crews respond quickly, handling everything from board-up and cleanup to pack-outs and reconstruction. We stay with you until your property is fully restored and your life can return to normal.

Professional Fire Restoration are sponsors of numerous youth sports programs throughout our area. We are also very involved in adult athletic programs, including flag football, softball, and we even sponsor a racing team.
We cherish our relationships with local sports teams like the Valley Cats, Siena College, the Times Union Center and many more.
